Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my bike need fitting?
There are ideal pedaling ratios, torso and hip angles—I work to position you on the bike to achieve the ideal distribution of these numbers. Most importantly, I work with many clients to eliminate or alleviate pain they experience while cycling.
I have an issue on one side of my body. Can you fix this?
Yes! We use Left-side and Right-side cameras capturing your movement simultaneously. We are the only bike fit in the region to offer this precision. Moreover, we have machines that allow us to change and test crank lengths on either side of your body. So if you are lacking or working to establish range of motion (ROM) on one side of your body, we can provide a bike fit for your asymmetries.
How do you fit the bike?
I fit you according to International Bike Fit Institute (IBFI) standards and Medicine of Cycling protocols. This includes making a physical assessment and recording and analyzing your kinematics. I then move the bike accordingly and change equipment— stem, saddle, handlebars, etc.— whenever necessary.
How long does the bike fit take?
2.5 hours.
What should I bring to the bike fit?
Bring your bicycle, cycling kit, cycling shoes, and hydration. If you have more than one pair of shoes please bring them.
I have more than one bike. Can you fit multiple bikes?
Absolutely.
How often should I get a bike fit?
Some people go years between bike fits. Some folks prefer to fit their bikes yearly or whenever they acquire a new rig.
